The Mountaineer Golf team beat Algonquin yesterday 201-206. Match medalist was sophomore Matt Orne with a 37. Also scoring for Wachusett were Mitch Bullett, Ben Goselin, Brian Carlson, and Ethan Bowlin. This is the first time the Mountaineers have won at Algonquin in 8 years! The team's record is now 3-2 and 2-1 in the league.

Yesterday both the JV1 and JV2 Girls soccer teams lost to very fast paced and physical Shrewsbury teams while on the road. Shea Brush scored for the JV1 team while Leah Kelly scored for the JV2 team. Both teams worked hard despite losing yesterday. Both JV1 and JV2 Girls soccer teams will practice only until 4:00 today.

The nurse’s office is asking all students to make sure that you’ve brought in your Emergency Cards for the new school year. If you haven’t done so yet, blank emergency cards can be found in either the main office or the nurse’s office.

On Saturday, October 19
th the PSAT’s will be administered to interested sophomores and juniors at WRHS. For more information and to register and pay the $30 fee, go to the school counseling website.
The registration deadline is September 18th!

Juniors and seniors who are eligible to apply for National Honor Society membership have been notified by USPS mail as well as school email. The letters were mailed home on September 6th. To print out the application to be considered for NHS membership please use the following link NHS Application. If you did not receive a letter and think you should have please check with Mrs. Kathman, the principal’s secretary in the main office.

Are you interested in becoming a CLA (classroom learning assistant)? CLA’s are upper school students who volunteer in 9th and 10th grade classrooms to help students and teachers. Please see Mrs. Bosco in room E113 for an application if you are interested.

Attention all freshmen! Do you have any creative skills? Do you want to help your class defeat the upperclassmen during spirit week?! We need your help with the banner. We will be meeting after school every day starting on Monday in room B108. The more the merrier, so please come and bring your friends!

Calling all Juniors! Do you have ideas for the banner this year? Do you have artistic talents you'd love to share? Help with the Class of 2021 Banner in D105 after school every day starting on Monday!

Do you need tutoring hours for NHS? Do you enjoy helping middle schoolers with their studies? If so then come to the first meeting of the Middle School Tutoring Club! It will take place next Thursday, September 19th after school in E216. See you there!

Attention all Gamer's. The Gamer's club will have its first meeting today at 2:30 in room C114.

Think Globally, Act Locally will have it’s first meeting of the year on Monday in E103 at 2:20. Help make Wachusett, our local communities, and our world greener! We are a club that does a variety of projects both in the school and the community. New members of all grades are welcome to this student-led club!

Anime Club will have its first meeting of the year on Monday after school in room C108. New members are welcome! 

There will be a mandatory meeting for all returning Math Honor Society members on Tuesday morning at 7:10 am. Come in and learn what is upcoming for this year!

Do you need a creative outlet? Do you like listening to and writing poetry? Come visit Wachusett's Poetry Club, where aspiring poets can read and write poetry. Learn about poetry. Share your own. Discover your own voice in spoken word, every Tuesday in room C212. Snacks and drinks will be provided--all are welcome.

Fall is in the air and it's time for Pie. So writers, musicians, poets, and artists submit your work for Rhubarb Pie, Wachusett's premier literary magazine, to Ms. Reynolds or Mr. Hartshorn today! You can email us your work  or

Any student that is interested in being an office volunteer during their study hall class should see Mrs. Belcher in the Main Office for more information.

Skiiers who want to save $100 on their Wachusett Mountain Season Pass at the group discount rate can become part of the WRHS Greatest Possible Savings Club:

  • Cost for a Gold pass this year is $349 and a bronze Pass is $269 until November 13th

  • Buying your pass through the WRHS GPS Club benefits the Graphic Arts Scholarship Fund. 

The next Driver Ed sessions will run September 30th-October 21st (no class 10/14) Monday-Friday After School 2:30pm-4:45pm, and October 21st-November 25th (no class 10/24, 11/11) Monday-Thursday Evenings 6:00pm-8:15pm. Please visit the website for more details.

The Council meets on the second Tuesday of the month, at 6:00 p.m., in the high school's main office conference room (#A106).  Our first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 8, 2019.  Hope you can join us.
