Important Information For Returning Students

Reporting Student Absences:

Student absences can now be reported through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Please see the Parent Information page for instructions. At this time, this option is available only to students who attend WRHS.
College Visits- Attendance Reminder

College visits are considered excused absence if documentation from the college/university/post grad program is submitted to the upper school office.
This would be a letter or email from the college that indicates the name of student, date, time, College/University contact person,  and reason for visit (College Tour, Interview, etc).
Parent still calls in and lets us know the student will be absent and then the student can submit a hard copy of the letter/email to Mrs.  W. in the upper school office upon returning to school. When received, your absence will be recorded as excused in power school.

While there isn’t a set number of excused absences for college visits, it’s crucial to prioritize class attendance as missing school can impact a student’s learning. Students are responsible for make-up work and catching up on missed notes. We encourage families to schedule visits on weekends or non-school days whenever possible.

Dismissal Policy:

Students to be dismissed must bring a note, signed by a parent/guardian, to the Upper School office before 8 a.m. on the day they are to be dismissed. No phone dismissals are allowed. Students may not be dismissed during a long block except for a documented medical or legal appointment. The class administrator must approve all long-block dismissals.

Class Dues:

Every student is responsible for class dues. Class dues fund some of the graduation expenses, as well as help, defray the cost of other senior activities as well as future alumni events. Class dues are $100 for all students present during their senior year. All students, whether participating in senior activities or not, are responsible for dues.

It is recommended that students pay dues in yearly installments or in advance so as not to increase the financial burden at the end of senior year. Checks should be made payable to

WRSD and payments can be dropped off to Amy Wierczorek in B201. For information on class dues or to find out how much dues your child owes, contact the advisor in charge of dues, Lori Montiverdi at [email protected].

Student Parking: Juniors are not eligible for year long parking passes. Juniors may purchase day passes at a cost of $2 per day through the main office. Juniors are limited to 10 passes per quarter. Day passes must be purchased at least one day in advance. Spaces are limited and passes are subject to availability.

Getting a Driver’s License: Are you 16 years old and ready to get your driver's license? Check out the WRHS Driver Education program. The classes are held after school at the high school. It couldn't be more convenient.

Clubs and Activities

WRHS offers many extracurricular activities for students. Students can find a complete list of  the clubs and activities page under the For Students tab of the WRHS website.  If a student wishes to form a new club, the student must download the Application to Form a Club, fill it out and bring it to the main office.

Classroom Learning Assistants

The Classroom Learning Assistant (CLA) program places Upper School students in Lower School classrooms to assist teachers and students. Students who would like to participate need to have at least one study hall. Students seeking more information should contact Ms. Bosco in E113 or through email: [email protected].

CLAs from last year do not have to apply again. All accepted students will go through a brief training session with Ms. Bosco.
