Welcome to the Office of Special Education and Student Services of the Wachusett Regional School District. The district’s mission indicates that we are committed “to ensure a vibrant, inclusive, and respectful educational
community in which we:

● Foster a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment

● Provide all students with equitable opportunities for deep and meaningful learning through multiple pathways

● Empower all students to develop and apply their unique strengths, passions, and curiosities

● Partner with our community to meet our goals while optimizing the effective and efficient use of our resources

Our district vision is to provide a “safe, supportive, and inspiring learning community where our students grow to be creative and independent thinkers, compassionate and kind individuals, responsible and empowered citizens, and curious life-long learners.”

Special Education Services are those legally required services that enable students to benefit from instructional programs that support students in meeting their educational potential. The Pupil Personnel Services department serves all children in the district, including general education students, students with disabilities, and students at risk.

Wachusett Regional School District is committed to providing a full continuum of programs and services to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities. In accordance with the student’s Individualized Education Plan or Section 504 Accommodation Plan, programs and related services are provided by certified special education teachers, speech/language therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, school counselors, school psychologists, school adjustment counselors, and other specialists.

Special Education services are available for students with disabilities between the ages of 3 and 21+, or until they earn their high school diploma.

We are dedicated to working with families to support our students with disabilities in accessing education in the least restrictive environment within the Wachusett Regional School District.  In the event students require a specialized programming outside of our district we are committed to identifying a Chapter 766 approved school through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Our goal is to provide all of our students with equal access to education.

We welcome your feedback, as we strive to continually improve our programs and services to meet the diverse and unique needs of each of our students.

The Wachusett Regional School District does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender,
gender identity, national origin or any category protected by law.
