Welcome to Wachusett!

The next four years will be challenging, exciting, and rewarding.  In addition to meeting new friends and enjoying new experiences, you will begin to build your academic resume and explore career options.  Take advantage of the numerous co-curricular and extracurricular activities available to you.

As a high school student, you will be assigned a School Counselor. Please do not hesitate to visit your counselor for any reason. We are here to help!

Below is helpful information to you and your families that you will experience this year.

Naviance

Naviance is a college and career research tool available to all WRHS students. They will have an opportunity to partake in career interest surveys which will allow them to start building a career pathway. Students can access Naviance with the username and password given to them in their Freshman Seminar class in the fall. Parents are encouraged to set up their own accounts to view their student's progress. Below is a general timeline of college and career building activities that freshman will complete.

Timeline

In early fall, school counselors visit Freshman Seminar classes to give freshmen an overview of the Counseling Department. You will also be introduced to your school counselor's google classroom!

Toward the end of the 1st quarter, freshmen are brought to the Media Center during Freshman Seminar to register their WRHS e-mail accounts and access Naviance for the first time.

During this time, freshmen will take the Learning Styles Inventory which will provide a report which will help students improve study habits.

During second semester, Freshmen are asked to complete the Cluster Finder (located on the "Careers" tab in Naviance). This Cluster Finder will enable students to gain an understanding of the career umbrellas that may suit them best.
